After 13 years of contributing to Brisbane’s craft beer scene, Newstead Brewing Co has permanently closed its doors.
Established in 2013 by the Howes family, the brewery operated from a former bus depot in Newstead and later expanded to a larger site near Suncorp Stadium in Milton, as well as a taphouse at Brisbane Airport.
Despite its success and significant impact on Brisbane’s craft beer industry, Newstead faced substantial challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the devastating Brisbane floods of 2022, which ultimately led to its closure.
